What's Happening in our Garden this month.
June brought a few new visitors to our garden, beginning with the Tin Man. Our new "Wizard of Oz" bed is well underway with (8) new plants from the Herrington Daylily Garden in Dublin, Georgia. "Off to See the Wizard" (Herrington-K, 2000) just bloomed this morning. We are anxiously waiting on the Scarecrow to pop in for a visit next.
He found a nice, new home!
We dug out and replanted (2) boxwood shrubs in early spring to prepare for our new "Wizard of Oz" bed. We had (3) shrubs we wanted to move but a mother Robin built a nest in the last one just as we were getting ready to dig it out, so it had to stay. We just saw the last baby hopping around the "Inventory Sales" bed so I guess it is safe to take down the bush now.
What a handsome devil he is and look at that heart just filled with love for the garden!
we purchased this plant from Herrington Daylily Garden in Dublin, GA
Our 1st bloom in the new "Wizard of Oz" bed.
Several baby bunnies have been seen hopping around the garden too. I hope they don't like daylilies for dinner!
The daylilies are just beginning to open up and we are hoping to be in full bloom in early July.
Tomorrow morning we will once again be at the Ephrata 3rd Saturday Market at the Whistle Stop Plaza. They have such fun things planned. This month the market theme is "Around the World Party". We will be converting our stand into a little piece of Hawaii. Check out our Events page (under the "Pages" pull down), for more information on the Market and our upcoming DVDS Garden Tours.
