Fall has arrived in the Garden.

Time to plant the seedlings!

Well, with the anticipation of fall just around the corner we have been planting our new little seedlings into the ground. They were lovingly nurtured all summer long to reach for the sky and grow tall and strong from within their "red solo cup" pots.

One of our new Seedling Beds

Michelle cleared out some space in our existing inventory/seedling bed to make room for all the new babies. It is so great to see them growing up!

Our original Seedling Bed

Michelle replanted this bed to make more room as well.

New Seedling Bed

This new bed was our planting table area. Do you see a theme developing here? Of course each year we have plants to dig up and divide, so we needed new beds for those, as well as additional pot-in-pot inventory plants. Michelle has been diligently trying to find new bed space without totally giving up all the grassy areas of the yard. I thought she liked mowing the grass.

Seedling pots ready to replant

Thanks to our neighbors for helping us move from Red Solo Cups to real planting containers.

One of our newest beds for next year.

This new bed will eventually be for our planted inventory that can be dug up upon request.

Bicycle Bed Expansion

We've expanded the "Bicycle Bed" to include another path and a few more plants to dig up as needed

Plumeria

We had a great summer and amazingly, even our Plumeria plant does not want to say goodbye to the warm weather. There is one last bloom that still wants to open.

hybridized seed pods

Of course, one of the most fall activities is the harvesting of our seeds. We hybridized a few plants this year but Mother Nature sure did her thing as well. We harvested the seeds and have them drying out so we can put them in the refrigerator for a few months until we plant them.

Cutting back the plants for winter

And last but not least, we cut back all the plants getting ready for the snow blankets of winter. Of course Coco had to help too!

Even though the main growing season is over, there will still be a lot of activity in the garden, so stop back often to see what's happening! Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you again next month!
